Artist statement
Nishit's practice is a delicate balancing act between the visible and the invisible, between the weight of objects and the emotional gravity they carry. Rooted in sculpture and installation, His work explores the idea of time, memory, resistance, and perception. Everyday materials like bicycle parts, mirrors, motors, wires, etc., are reimagined to speak not just of function, but of feeling. Each piece becomes a quiet theater where motion, sound, and stillness perform psychological states: inner conflict, longing, restraint, and the fragile hope for clarity.
At the core of his work lies a deep interest in how modern life, especially in the digital age, distorts our sense of time and self. Through minimal gestures and subtle interventions, he transforms familiar forms into poetic metaphors. A handle that carries a strong sense of direction, history, and survival—both personal and cultural. A vibrating handle becomes a restless mind. A broken brake wrapped in barbed wire turns into a portrait of internal resistance. A stretched bicycle handle recalls the warmth of childhood friendships, now distant yet vivid.
Rather than offering answers, Nishit's work invites the viewer to pause, reflect, and reconsider what is often overlooked. His installations do not shout; they resonate quietly but persistently with the tensions of contemporary life.
